This unique set up grew out of Jo’s passion for textiles, quilting and sewing 25 years ago. She holds teaching workshops for enthusiasts and used to offer tea and cakes to her students. This eventually developed into a café when she employed Andrew Gerry (trained by Tina) to expand the offering from cream teas, coffee and delicious cake to delicious light lunches using both local and Organic ingredients where possible.

The views from the farmhouse garden over Launceston town and castle with Dartmoor and Brentor Church in the distance are exceptional and inspirational.

The cowslip workshop café is not licensed but customers are very welcome to bring their own wine.

The Otter Sanctuary

In addition to being a great day out, the Otter Sanctuary has an award-winning tearoom. Open from Good Friday until November 2nd, this is a great place to see some unusual animals and follow your visit with a light lunch or cream tea.

Homeleigh Garden Centre

(4.78 miles, 8 minutes from Percy’s)

If gardening is your passion, a visit to Homeleigh Garden Centre is a must.

In spite of having over 40 departments, it has quite a homely appeal and there is plenty to occupy you for a couple of hours at least. On the site is Robin’s Restaurant overlooking Dartmoor, which offers hot food and tea & cake throughout the day.

Slightly further afield, situated on the Hartland peninsula you will find these amazing gardens - a relatively undiscovered gem. With plenty of awards for their cream teas and tea rooms, a visit to both the gardens and the tea rooms is an undeniable treat.
