Making bread is not only a very satisfying task, but it is also a
nurturing, soul-enhancing experience. Handling yeast dough can be much
more fun than any other type of cooking.
Making fresh bread is not as time-consuming as you might think.
The main work is done by the yeast so it can be done on days when you
are busy doing other things.

Topics covered:
- Demonstrations on how to make various different types of bread, quick breads, puddings and pies.
- Preparation techniques on how to handle fresh yeast and sourdough, knead bread, make various different types of pastry and knock up sumptuous steamed puddings.
- Cooking techniques including proving, baking, griddle cakes, working with meringue, blind baking pastry cases and how to make delicious accompaniments such as toffee and whisky sauce and fresh egg custard.
