GOURMET BOLTHOLES FOOD & DRINK APRIL 2010 Rachel Truman

Tony and Tina Bricknell-Webb are your consummate hosts at this rural getaway. AFter you've checked in to your cosy bedroom in the 17th-century converted granary, ditch city shoes for a pair of the wellies that line the hallway. Tony will take you on a tour of their organic farm, introducing you to Boris the boar and the racehorses he breeds before the dogs takeover, joining you for a hike around the 130-acre estate. In the evening, Tony attends to all your front-of-house needs while Tina cooks up a storm. Her seasonal cooking (grilled goat's cheese, beetroot and pumpkin chutney or roasted home-reared lamb served pink with a rosemary jus and garden-fresh veggies) is sublime, with pretty much everything grown on the estate. Don't miss the home-made bacon and sausages for breakfast.

FOODIE DIVERSION:

Tina runs regular cookery classes from breads to butchery. You can also buy their award-winning organic meat to take home.
