DEVON (Holsworthy)

This shoot, run by a highly experienced owner/keeper, is frequently sold out well before the season starts and a good many S4A clients have visited and returned.We have 4 days to sell featuring driven, mainly wild duck which are generally at "extreme range" and it is recommended that No 4 or even heavier shot are used - obviously non toxic. Teams of up to 8 guns can expect in the region of 6 drives from marsh and open water with bags of circa 125 birds at only £1875 (£15 a bird). In addition, an evening meal plus B & B will be available in the farm house at an extra £35 p/g if required, subject to availability. Days of choice, but excluding 3rd to 5th September inclusive and 20th to 24th September inclusive.

DEVON (Tamar Valley)

This family run, commercial shoot over some 500 acres, offers classic Devon pheasant and partridges in the surroundings for which the county's sport is world famous. Whereas there are birds to suit most experienced shots, there are some presented at a height when a ratio of six cartridges to one will not disgrace the most able gun. This can be said in particular of one of the two quarry drives where, to add to the occasion, a picker up plies his trade from a boat. The land, near Lifton, is well wooded and bordered partly by the river Tamar and the all in cost of £25 per bird includes lunch (up to 22 can be seated) in the Georgian farm house. The days are normally sold well in advance of the season but we have some with bags of 200 upwards suitable for up to 10 guns.

NORTH DEVON

This is a private shoot of over 300 acres near Bideford, very popular with shooters in the immediate area, which offers a few let days each year to S4A clients. These are driven days, mainly pheasant , but other species depending on weather. The land offers a variety of habitats and features, and the days include challenging snap shooting in woodland and birds out of woods, hedges and some wetland. The bag is normally around the 100 mark with the accent on having an enjoyable day's shooting in enjoyable company of the beaters and pickers-up. Days available: Fri 22 Dec 06 40-100 bird day £24/bird
