Percy's Hotel - What the Guests say...
Staying at Percy's is a whole experience. I stayed with my 12 year old son and we had such a fabulous time feeding the piglets, grooming the giant pigs, playing with the dogs and walking around the vast expanse of estate. We saw a lamb that had just been born and was escorted by the delightful owners who were so friendly and accommodating. The suites were immaculate and pandered to our every need, even providing wellies of every size! The organic gastro-experience was outstanding. Superb food at both dinner and breakfast - an experience not to be missed. Thank-you !
What a fantastic place. We had read good reviews on the website when we booked but our experience surpassed even these. We were warmly welcomed; room was lovely (although a little warm). Our meal was superb (I am still recovering from the desserts!) and the service second to none. After a lovely breakfast, the hotel dogs took us for a walk around the estate. We stayed 1 night and felt like we had had a week's break. We have already booked to go back and would have no hesitation in recommending Percy's
The whole experience of our stay at Percy's was, quite simply, fantastic. From the moment we arrived we knew we were in for something very special and we were not disappointed. The spacious accommodation, with a king-size bed, was very luxurious and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was magnificent and served by the owner, Tony, and cooked by his wife, Tina. The highlights of the mouth-watering menus included: home-reared organic lamb and pork, fresh fish from the market at Looe, all served with vegetables and herbs straight from the garden outside the door. We felt very welcome and were given the full run of this remarkable organically run estate. What a relaxing time we had. We have now started a Percy's fund- this is going to be our secret getaway, we can't wait to return.
The food in the hotel restaurant was excellent, really deserving its awards, and much of the raw materials were home produced on the farm too. As part of a working organic farm, the hotel was unusual and special. The farm dogs were definitely good ambassadors - always willing to show you the best walks (wellies are available on loan).
This place is a delight. We only stayed one night but it felt much longer; we both came away refreshed, a great place. The food is sublime and leaves you feeling good (no salts and fats added). You can burn off any extra calories walking around the 130-acre estate. A wonderful place.
"Here you can be happy" A TripAdvisor MemberWho really wants to learn something about Percy's Hotel, just should read the Trip Advisor comments with maximum score, because all the others have not understood what is at stake, and it can not be assessed. Now we were already for the second time in Percy's and we will definitely go back again, because it is unique. It's like a wild park, waiting to be discovered, with a hotel and restaurant, where you will be treated. The animals on the farm are an attraction in itself, and you could spend the whole day in and around the hotel, especially with children. On the walks you will be accompanied by the Hofhunden. This year we even took our own dog. I think she was never so happy. The rooms are very large, charming and functional. For delicious cakes in the afternoon you can cook in your room tea and relax on the comfortable leather sofa. For those who create it finally has to break away, there are within a radius of an hour's drive so much to discover and do. It can be put together an attractive program for different generations and interests. Our favorite attraction we found but very close - the Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre, Lifton - so amused there as we have long gone! In the evening you will be spoiled by Tina and Tony at the restaurant. With an aperitif by the fireplace, the wine is selected. We were very pleased with the selection and the wines. Tina is a wonderful cook who makes the whole big show the ingredients. Ingredients that directly come from the farm or from nearby producers that she knows. The meat is incredibly tender, the vegetables and the salad so fresh harvested that a supermarket customers almost come to tears when he is at home again before the vegetable shelf! But so fresh and local ingredients also mean that all is not always available. So there is a fixed, daily changing menu. To me it is more than right not to have to choose. Tina does the selection for us wonderfully. Everything is delicious and even children like it so casually discover the new. To me it is important that the animals I eat had a decent life and died hassle free. Pork I eat only when I know where it comes from, and never actually in restaurants. Unlike in the Percy's: The wonderful bacon and the delicious sausages for breakfast-Faggots must try! - I can enjoy carefree, because Tina and Tony think the same as I do. This philosophy is the concept of the hotel, in perfect harmony with the countryside and nature. Anyone who enters into this philosophy, found in Percy's paradise. Even though, or perhaps because the animals for Tina and Tony are just as important as the guests. It may, indeed, that Tina just jumps out of the kitchen to check on a pig that soon raises piglets. If a foal comes during dinner to the world, you play the best in the waiting boots and pilgrimage in the barn. This should be done so already. Other hand, how boring are other hotels! TripAdvisor some comments have made me very sad: Who finds the bacon was too fat, must have forgotten that the bacon comes from an animal and not a standardized product. Such people should not only spend one night in the hotel, but equal a whole month on the farm, participate in the garden and in the kitchen. You could learn a lot. Other opinions on Tripadvisor that I do not share, related to the service. Breakfast is served by the lovely Karen, who very happy when they can offer goose eggs, and we eat a lot of meat. Charming as it gets. Dinner is served from Tony perfect form. But he is not an ordinary waiter. If he were an ordinary waiter that Percy's restaurant still in London and would not just what it is now. When Tony and served the food, it is not a service which is subsequently settled with the bill. No, it is an almost reverent moment in which two fine people share their dreams with others. This is a very unusual situation, an unexpected gift, the little overwhelmed and confused some guests apparently. What is exacerbated because Tony is not much to say. No small talk, just a great gesture. One thinks inevitably, whether you should clear away the dishes themselves after eating, because it seems inappropriate to be served on. Incidentally, I would not hesitate to do it if Tony would once during the dinner in the barn. Is chatted for the magic moment, Tony tells funny experiences with animals and guests. And I find a way to say thanks for everything: Accept the gift, understand what it Tina and Tony goes and come back! Our advice: children and dogs take. Minimum stay three days and take a lot of time every day to explore the farm!
